EXPERTISE
WHAT WE DO
We design iOS interfaces to Apple Human Interface Guidelines and Android screens to Material Design 3, using the correct navigation components, spacing, typography, and interaction patterns for each platform.
We design swipe actions, pull-to-refresh, bottom sheet interactions, and custom gesture sequences that feel intuitive on touchscreens and match platform conventions users already know.
We create high-fidelity interactive prototypes in Figma and ProtoPie that communicate micro-interactions, transition timing, and gesture responses to developers and stakeholders before a line of code is written.
We build Figma component libraries with auto-layout, variants, and interactive components that reflect the production design system, enabling designers and developers to work from a single source of truth.
We design for VoiceOver and TalkBack compatibility, ensure minimum touch target sizes, maintain WCAG-compliant colour contrast, and provide developer handoff notes for accessible implementation.
We conduct moderated and unmoderated usability testing sessions on real iOS and Android devices, synthesise findings into actionable design changes, and validate improvements in subsequent test rounds.

CASE STUDIES
Testimonials
What impressed us most was how Kultrix handled the full stack - frontend, backend, and mobile - with one cohesive team. Communication was clear, delivery was predictable, and the final product exceeded what we initially scoped.
Co-CEO
Kultrix built both our web platform and mobile app from scratch. Their team understood the complexity of our industrial workflows and translated them into clean, intuitive interfaces. We launched on time and our operators adopted the tools immediately.
Co-CEO
Kultrix handled everything for us - landing page, dashboard, mobile app, and even a Chrome extension. Having one team own the entire product surface meant everything felt connected and consistent. They shipped fast and the quality speaks for itself.
CEO, Ping Proxies
Kultrix has been our go-to partner for multiple projects - from marketing websites to full mobile applications and backend systems. They scale up when we need speed and maintain consistency across every project. Reliable, fast, and technically strong.
CEO, Volume Apps
Working with Kultrix on our mobile app and backend was seamless. They brought strong product thinking to every sprint, not just code. When priorities shifted, they adapted quickly without losing momentum. Exactly the kind of partner a product team needs.
Product Lead, Pelago
We needed a team that could handle mobile development, server infrastructure, and AI features all at once. Kultrix delivered on all three fronts. Our fitness platform went from concept to production in under four months with zero compromises on quality.

FAQ
Mobile design operates under constraints that web design does not face: touch targets must be large enough for finger interaction, thumb reach zones dictate where interactive elements live, platform-specific navigation patterns (tab bars on iOS, navigation drawers on Android) shape information architecture, and device performance differences affect animation budget. Our designers have internalised these constraints and apply them naturally - not as checklists but as design intuition.
Most engagements begin within 48 hours of contract signing. For designers with specific expertise (e.g., AR/VR interfaces, wearable design, tablet-specific adaptive layouts), allow up to one week. We maintain available mobile design capacity at all times.
When the product targets both platforms, we design platform-specific variants that respect each platform's conventions. Tab bars with icons below content are correct on iOS; navigation drawers and bottom navigation bars are correct on Android. Typography defaults, icon styles, and dialog patterns also differ. For cross-platform React Native and Flutter apps, we agree upfront on how much platform adaptation is appropriate versus a unified visual language.
Figma is the primary design and handoff tool for all Kultrix mobile designers. Prototypes are built in Figma for standard interactions and ProtoPie for complex gesture-driven or physics-based animations. Lottie files are used for production-ready micro-animations that can be integrated directly into native apps. All deliverables are handed off in formats that iOS and Android developers can consume without translation.
Yes. Embedded augmentation is a common engagement model. Our designers adopt your existing design system, work within your Figma organisation, join your design crits, and contribute without disrupting your team's workflow. They can own specific flows or screens while your team leads overall product direction.
Onboarding is one of the highest-leverage design investments in a mobile app. Our designers structure onboarding around a value delivery sequence - showing users the key benefit as early as possible before asking for permissions or account creation. We use progressive disclosure, contextual permission requests (requesting camera access only when the camera feature is triggered), and personalisation steps that make the experience feel tailored.
Yes. Dark mode is expected by users on both iOS and Android and must be designed intentionally, not generated by inverting colours. Our designers create semantic colour tokens that resolve to the correct value in light and dark mode, test every screen in both modes, and ensure that elevation shadows (which invert their depth cue in dark mode on Android Material Design) are handled correctly.
Empty states and error states are product design opportunities, not edge cases to skip. We design every screen's empty state (first launch, after deletion, no search results) with appropriate illustration, copy, and a clear action to move forward. Error states communicate the problem clearly, explain what the user should do next, and preserve any data the user has already entered.
Yes. Kultrix mobile designers can plan and run moderated usability tests with target users, conduct contextual inquiry sessions, analyse session recordings, and synthesise research findings into design recommendations. Research findings are documented in a structured report with prioritised design implications - not just observations without direction.
Handoff quality directly determines how accurately designs are implemented. Our designers annotate Figma files with spacing values, interaction notes, animation timings, and accessibility requirements. They export assets in the correct formats for iOS (@1x, @2x, @3x PNGs or vector PDFs) and Android (vector drawables or multiple density PNGs). They remain available during implementation to answer developer questions and review builds.
Yes. App Store screenshots, feature graphics, preview videos, and the app icon are part of many Kultrix mobile design engagements. We design screenshot compositions that communicate key features at a glance, comply with each store's technical requirements, and test conversion in App Store A/B experiments. The app icon is designed at required sizes and passes macOS and iOS icon rendering quality checks.
We offer monthly retainer engagements for ongoing product design and fixed-scope projects for defined deliverables (e.g., design a new onboarding flow, create a component library, redesign the home screen). Both models include weekly design reviews, Figma file access, developer handoff support, and a dedicated account manager. Minimum engagement is one month.
