Email clients do not behave like browsers. Outlook renders HTML using Microsoft Word's engine, not a proper browser, which means modern CSS is largely ignored. Gmail strips out certain CSS. Apple Mail has its own rendering quirks. Email developers must use table-based layouts, inline styles, and platform-specific workarounds that would be considered terrible practice in web development but are the only reliable approach in email.
