Our preferred foundation for accessibility and composability is Radix UI or Ariakit, which provide unstyled, accessible primitives that we style with your design tokens. For teams already using shadcn/ui or Headless UI we extend those foundations. We avoid building from scratch when a maintained accessibility-first primitive library covers the requirement.

We define tokens as platform-agnostic JSON using Style Dictionary, then transform them into CSS custom properties for web, JavaScript theme objects for React Native, and Swift/Kotlin constants for native mobile. This ensures a single colour or spacing change in the token file propagates to all platforms without manual updates.

We structure Figma component names, variant names, and property names to match the TypeScript component API exactly. Token values in Figma Variables are exported via Token Studio or the Figma REST API and fed into Style Dictionary. We also write contribution guidelines that specify how to add or modify a component in both Figma and code simultaneously.

Chromatic is a visual testing service built by the Storybook team. It captures screenshots of every Storybook story on every PR and compares them against baselines, flagging visual regressions for review before they merge.
